ELIMINATION OF CRACKS IN THE FLOOR AND WALLS OF PRIVATE HOUSES

Unfortunately, the formation of cracks in the floor and walls of private houses is not a rare phenomenon. Most often, such deformations occur due to the subsidence of the foundations of buildings, which can be provoked by the weakening of the foundation soil. It is possible to restore a house with damages of this nature with the help of GeoResin geopolymer injection technology.

Despite the fact that the house seems to us to be a solid structure, its position in space can change dynamically due to changes in the characteristics of the soil on which the house is built. The fact is that the foundation of the house, and therefore the entire structure, can be subject to uniform settlement or uneven settlement, when for one reason or another the settlement on adjacent areas of the foundation is different.

When the degree of settlement of the foundation exceeds the limit value, load-bearing and non-load-bearing structures of the building are damaged. This manifests itself in the formation of cracks in the floor and in the walls, the separation of load-bearing walls from the ceilings, skewing of doorways and window structures, and so on.

There can be several reasons for such foundation subsidence. These are errors in the design, and poor performance of construction works to compact the soil of the foundation base. Force majeure situations are also possible, when the soil of the base is weakened due to a violation of the integrity of the underground water supply or sewage system or a sudden rise in the groundwater level. In any case, to prevent further destruction of the house and to eliminate cracks in the walls, it is necessary to strengthen the soil and raise the foundation of the house to the required level.

Methods of strengthening the soil and raising the foundation

The traditional method of strengthening the base soil and raising the foundation of the building involves large-scale works. In this case, to eliminate cracks in the floor and walls, it is necessary to involve serious construction equipment. At the same time, the full term of repairing the foundation, strengthening the soil and restoring the floor and walls of the house can take about 4-6 weeks.

Modern methods of strengthening the soil, stabilizing and raising the foundations of private houses, which involve the introduction of multi-component geopolymer resins GeoResin into the soil, are able to provide a solution to such problems in just 2-3 days. At the same time, there is no need to carry out earthworks and involve heavy special equipment.

Injection of geopolymers

In order to eliminate cracks in walls and floors using GeoResin technology, injections of geopolymers are made either to a considerable depth under the sole of the foundation (Deep Lifting technology) or directly under concrete floor slabs (Floor technology Lifting). The expansion of the geopolymer material gains strength in 15 minutes, which allows you to quickly fill voids in the soil under the foundation and increase the density and bearing capacity of the base soil. It is very important that the structure of geopolymers makes it possible to carry out injections, including in excessively wet soils.

During injections, GeoResin specialists are able to monitor the movement of concrete slabs of the floor and foundation in real time with an accuracy of ± 1 mm. At this time, the elimination of cracks occurs literally before our eyes. The injection procedure itself consists in drilling small wells in the ground or holes in the concrete floor. The diameter of the holes for injections is usually 8-16 mm.
