Our experts (engineers and technicians) carefully design the elevation and leveling of your house, taking into account the current conditions and requirements identified in the survey. A laser trap system is used to monitor progress and determine the level of uplift required closely.
Our restoration methods involve the least possible intrusion on your personal space. Like fine surgery, GeoResin is injected through tiny holes with diameters ranging from 12 to 28 millimeters when used inside the house. But to minimize disturbance, all work is done outside by default, unless circumstances force it to move inside.
We plan the openings so that the interference is as inconspicuous as possible. For example, underneath skirting boards or at tile junctions where possible. We also choose the smallest diameters for the drills (6 – 8 mm). These tiny holes are almost invisible if they are plugged with a small wooden plug or with a special cement or epoxy mortar.
If carpet is present in the room, it must be rolled away from the affected area. Often it can simply be moved away from the abutting area along the wall.
GeoResin tries to perfectly level floors. However, there are cases and conditions where the desired lift may damage the structure. In this case, GeoResin lifts the floor slab as far as objective conditions allow and focuses on improving the base to guarantee the level achieved in the long term.
One of our specialist teams will survey and assess your site, including the base soil, and determine what will be required, providing a technical report and solution. Placement of utility lines is required to reduce the risk of the GeoResin material affecting the networks (water supply, sewerage, electricity). Damaged plumbing and piping are often one of the causes of subsidence, deformation, and cracking of structures. If this is detected, GeoResin recommends that pipes be repaired before work commences.
Tree roots are also a common cause of foundation problems. In some cases, GeoResin specialists can recommend installing root barriers or removing trees to a safe distance. This can be done both before and after the work is done. Well, GeoResin’s mobile work unit (category C vehicle) needs to be parked next to your home for access during the day.
GeoResin penetrates the soil through a network of injection points. Where utilities are in an emergency condition (e.g. cracks or leaking joints in pipes), the resin can get into the pipes and cause blockages. In this case, it is the responsibility of the property owner to remove the material, but this is only the case if the damaged pipe was not marked by the owner at the time of the survey. The same applies if a GeoResin specialist drills into a pipe that is located but not marked for design.
Materials we use have been developed for use in soils or similar confined environments so as to resist shrinkage and deterioration. The polymer materials have a GeoResin guarantee of up to 60 years. Recent studies of artificial aging show that under natural (not extreme) environmental conditions the materials can last up to 1000 years.
GeoResin does not offer a “one for all” solution. We evaluate each case and property individually to provide an individual solution analogous to treating a particular person from a particular disease. We have made an exhaustive assessment of the resources required and are ready to answer any questions on the way to a solution. Our long-term and international experience in different conditions helps us to give recommendations on the expected results of work, based on the type of house, soil conditions, and problem situation in a particular region.
GeoResin recommends strict adherence to building and structure maintenance standards, devoting more time and effort to prevention.
GeoResin understands the importance of protecting buildings and structures. For over 40 years we have built our reputation as a trusted provider of cost-effective and innovative solutions that eliminate ground and underground engineering problems, such as subsidence of floor slabs and foundations.
And that’s why we take the time to get to know your situation and specific problems in order to find the right solution to restore your house or property. It is important to note that once any work is complete, we remain available for ongoing advice and support. We know that our solution works. That’s why we are prepared to offer the industry’s broadest 60-year warranty on our work.
